DESCRIPTION :

Bangkok is a floodplain area that is the pathway of water. Bangkok has been growing very fast as urban sprawl. Space or waste areas have been transformed into “new living and housing.” These situations follow the environmental, community, and economic issues—for example, flooding, air pollution, and recreation. The design approach (Amphi-Graden) proposes the platform to link between green (park) and blue (water) as well as communities together. It enhances empty spaces or waste areas, become a “commonality space” which help all of us, such as human and nature. Therefore, these approaches, such as Blue-Green Infrastructure (BGI), Water Sensitive Urbanism (WSU), and Sponge City, are considered for enhancing FRM to deal with future climate change.

ภูมิประเทศของกรุงเทพคือพื้นที่ราบและเป็นทางผ่านของมวลนํ้า (floodplain area) ในขณะที่เมืองมีการเติบโตและขยายอย่างรวดเร็วแบบไร้ทิศทาง (urban sprawl) พื้นที่ว่างหรือรกร้างในเมืองถูกเปลี่ยนสภาพเป็นที่พักอาศัยใหม่จำนวนมาก ดังนั้นจึงทำให้เกิดปัญหาที่ตามมาในเรื่องของสภาพสิ่งแวดล้อม, สังคม และ เศรษฐกิจ อาทิเช่น นํ้าท่วมขัง (นํ้ารอการระบาย) มลภาวะทางอากาศและขาดแคลนพื้นที่สันทนาการ วัตถุประสงค์ของงานออกแบบชิ้นนี้เพื่อเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการเชื่อมโยงความสัมพันธ์ของทั้ง 3 องค์ประกอบ คือ พื้นที่สีเขียว พื้นที่รับนํ้าและพื้นที่สำหรับชุมชน (commonality space) อีกทั้งยังเป็นพื้นที่ชะลอน้ำเพื่อช่วยลดปัญหาน้ำท่วมขังในบริเวณรอบๆของพื้นที่ ดังนั้นวิธีการ Blue-Green Infrastructure (BGI)/Water Sensitive Urbanism (WSU)/Sponge City จึงเป็นหนึ่งในหลายๆมตราการที่ถูกนำมาพิจารณา เพื่อทำให้เมืองหรือชุมชนหน้าอยู่และรับมือกับสภาพอากาศที่เปลี่ยนแปลงและไม่แน่นอนในอนาคต
